Gear Shift SoapBox Derby

Form a team of up to 5 and take on this eco-friendly, highly creative race. Interested teams to purchase a four-wheel kart body kit and manuals from The Southern Depot. Teams challenge one another by presenting hand-made, motor-less vehicles. They would be judged for their aesthetic, their speed and their road-holding.

The Criteria: 

• 3 to 5 people to make a team (Min 15 years old)
• 1 driver (helmet, gloves, safety shoes, goggles, jacket, long pants)
• Each team is to build a creative shell around the cart
• No modification of carts allowed, except for change of wheels
• Teams with vulgar or obscene designs will be forfeited.
• Teams are not allowed to seek personal sponsorships and must approach The Southern Depot for permission
• Teams must allow The Southern Depot to paste marketing communications on their carts
• Teams have two weeks to complete their cart build. After finishing, they must submit a video documenting the build process, which should be no longer than three minutes.
